I tried to balance the difficulty by making enemies take more hits because of the increase in firing speed, but I guess some more damage could work.  Or if I could find a way to make enemies not flinch when hit that would be cool and add a more strategic element to defeating them instead of IM FIRIN' MAH SPAZER all the time.

And yes this is the last demo I intend to release.

Thank goodness for that! Not that I don't want to play it, but I thought your beta was huge unless the hack is a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. This is extremely fun so far, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't wait for this hack.

On the subject of enemies... You could have some enemies respawn that normally don't to maybe add a little difficulty. That way I don't think you have to mess with them very much.

You are evil to me. I just beat Spore Spawn with no etanks, 1 soup, and 19 missiles, then mockballed to get boostball since I thought that was what I was supposed to do (figured it was a super awesome mega side item).

Still, demo semi-pwnt.

Edit: I just read the readme, and it seems I have all the major items without even having beaten Kraid. Demo pwnt.

Edit2: On closer inspection, the readme does not say how many etanks you can get.

I'm not sure exactly how many you can get, but I had found at least 4, maybe 5 of them.

I had some time on my hands and made a run thru of the demo, showing off most of the stuff in it. I'm sure I said this before, but so far this is amazing and I can't wait for the whole thing.

As long as you have not abandoned the project, that's good enough for me.  Between this, Eris, and eventually Aegis, 2009 is shaping up to be a banner year for SM hacks.

I think that most of the hackers here are decent enough to say if any project has been abandoned.

Every thread here that deals specifically with one hack is a place for the creators to present any new content, and for users to comment on the existing content.

If no updates are made, there is no content that the creators wish to share, and users asking how things are going isn't going to change anything.

Makes me feel sorry for Drewseph, who must have been hounded for the entirety of the years he spent producing Redesign.
Goes along with the territory though, especially during periods like this where very little on the hacking front has been released in months and months.  But yeah, I'm sure all of these authors will share new info/screens/vids as they see fit, and hounding them certainly isn't going to change any timeframes.

But that doesn't change the fact that WE WANT NU HAX!  grin new

I don't have anything big to show and I don't plan on showing anything else until I make major progress into one aspect of the hack.  But I can let you all know that Gaia Heights is one room away from completion.
New Progress meters:

Volgaia: 100% -- Map finished
Forensrem: 0%  -- Map finished
Therma: 0%
Hydrorien: 0%
Fifth Area (still needs name): 0%
Sanctorium: ~0% -- Map finished
Planned New Tilesets: 1/7 (subject to change)

(Volgaia==Gaia Heights, Forensrem==Cyclonia, Hydrorien==Aquatic Rift)

You may notice that previously completed areas are now back at 0%.  That's because I'm revamping those areas completely.

I guess you can have one random pic from Eastern Volgaia...

Instead of changing names, would it not be possible to add smaller area names?  I mean you might have Volgaia as the Map's name, but within that, have text on the map highlighting different areas?  For example, you could have Volgaia as the Map area, with Gaia Heights (and others) within that area?  Think Green / Red Brinstar in the original...  It could be especially useful if you have a map with distinctly different tiling in parts.  Just a thought. I just use eastern and western when I refer to them, and actually, east and west kind of look similar...  I also have that name/short description on the maps too.






These maps show no hidden areas so don't be put off by how small some of them look.
I'm more put off by how much you're showing here, but they look great.
