Quote from Tonski:
To be honest I think this is a rather gunship hack.

gunship?

It's an auto-censor. aka: blocks some cuss words.

LJ: You have to manipulate your health during the fight so the first laser (as mentioned above it does 700 damage, although by my recollection it's 600) brings you down to less than 100 health.

Tonski: No, this isn't another Redesign, but it makes for a few fun hours, and it was made literally for the heck of it; I don't think it's your place to criticize.
Waaaaaaa i want insanity
I can't get it to work on zsnes or snes9x.
Is there a trick to it?
Quote from Cpadolf:
Oh crap, I thought the morphball path after motherbrain ended with a 2 block high jump, which I ofcourse though was (and is) impossible to do by other ways then bombjumping. A 3 block high jump though I knew was possible.

Yeah, it's only possible at at least 3 block high mazes. It's used in TASes (e.g. in JXQ100%v2 to get the Maridia mainstreet Supers, or SMI's Norfair maze as shown by Tonski and Kriole). The pseudo springball saves around a second compared to normal bomb jump.
When did I show you pseudo springball in my TAS? It stopped before the first jump in the maze. ;)
Um... am I actually supposed to kill all these deathtroids? Maybe I took the wrong turn

Almost happy
you are supposed to be there, it's just really hard...

Yes. They have 300 hit points. The normal beam does 20, a charged beam does 60, and a missile does 100. You do the math. :P (Or just watch my 20% or Cpadolf's any%)
Very short, fun hack. I beat it in 00:26 :D
0:25 and 22% items. Nice hack, kind of like a mini Impossible. Very fun, even if very short.

I should probably finish my 19% TAS of this. Mabey someday I will. Rolling Eyes

Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past
Was impressed at the beginning till after the crumble blocks with the moving tiles. Fuck that.
Sorry won't play anymore. I love a challenge but that's just ridiculous.

Edit: Forgive my frustration. Gave it another go and am progressing. I just.. don't like moving tiles.

I think it does that to most people, it can be frustrating at some points, including that one. Glad to hear you're not a quitter ;)

I'm having a hell of a time doing a speedball in that room after the grapple. I haven't yet mastered speed ball in such short areas, ESPECIALLY with spikes. this may be the end for me. My wrists hurt. Will give it a try later. Great hack so far.
Meri Kurisumasu! ^_^
0:18 finish.
23% itans.
Funsy hack.
Got bored, gave it another go, and finished in 0:31, which is kinda slow, but those damn deathtroids took me for a spin.

Did anyone get a crash when they went through the door between Tourian and Crateria during the escape sequence? I've noticed it happening quite a lot.
Almost happy
Yes I did, I think I had to slow down some frames in my TAS to avoid that... It's quite random and seem to happen maybe 10-15% of the time to me.

Those deathtroids bring new meaning to challenge in SM. The thought occured to me that if you can make them that tough and with a little variation, a SM hack can be made in a M2 way. Find and defeat these suckers. Not sure how a counter would/could work mind you..

The speed of metroids has practically limitless possibilities, but changing the accuracy of the metroids attacks is a better way to make them harder. the Deathtroids are 8 times as accurate as normal metroids, and i believe you can make them anything up to 16 times as accurate as in Super Metroid, but then they are impossible to dodge.

It's bullshit after fighting MB and realizing you're half a tank off from surviving her finishing eye beam. fuck.

Dude i feel for you, thats a pretty long battle, and i think most people will use a lot of savestates in it. Try to keep the bottom row (maybe 6?).

By the way, has anyone beaten this hack without savestates yet?

Not gonna happen, at least from this end. This is a good hack but it is not SMI. Deathtroids....
Almost happy
it should be very possible to beat it without savestates, it's easier then SM:I, the last deathtroid room would probably be the most trouble you'll get, but since you can save between every deathtroid room that should not be so hard after all.
