But unless I can take out that gate I don't think I have enough room to charge.  I have combed that entire area looking for a way to the other side of it.  I can get right on top of it from the room that's a big square.

Edit:  NVM.  Figured it out.

Yeah it's one of the more unconventional methods. I steer clear of that method after the complaints with my first mini-hack.

That's a fun one-room hack.  And sometimes it was fairly tough to figure out what to do next.  You had to remember a super missile block, or a speed boost spot, or something you saw a while before.  I spent a fair amount of time wandering around thinking about what in the world the screw attack did for me, then while I was taking a break it just came to me.  That's the sign of  good hack, where you have to think it through a bit, but not so much that you get too frustrated.

And of course the best way to get unstuck is to finally post a question, as you inevitably get it shortly after, as I did.  laugh new

Edit:  Clariifcation.
Thanks for playing, DonnyDonovan!  I'm glad you liked it.

I still don't know what the screw attack is for but my curiousity will just lead me in the wrong direction. I suck at pondering when I'm too focused on the act of pondering itself. Outside the box, and into a slightly bigger one  Shocked
You need Screw Attack to get
Power Bombs - unless you got early Charge (which I hope is fixed in beta 2).

If you got them some other way, then let me know so I can fix it.
I'll have to play beta 2 when I get home today, see if I can take another crack at early charge.

I got early charge. Even got early plasma, without that extra energy tank.

All the best.

pbs? I just bombed two blocks to get in the area.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie

Curse you Speed Booster!

Thanks for testing.  I'll probably get beta 3 out this weekend.  I still don't know how you get early plasma (an smv would be great)?

You use screw attack to clear the obstacle before the two bomb blocks.

I'll show one soon.
Ok so, finished both hacks, 100%, I was stupid about the "cant leave the screw attack room" xd forgot about "that" block...

I found some exploits and stuff... but I cant remember em right now...

Oh yeah I remembered:

At the super missile room, its way too easy to miss the super missile block, so i went back to the grapple wall and grapple glitched my way out xd.

What else...

The charge beam... this time i couldnt get it early cause i suck at shinesparking under pressure xd, but im supposed to
space jump with screw attack vertically and break the stone so i can get it right?? i freaking hate vertical screw cause my keyboard collapses xd.

Anyways, pretty good hack, the fix for the early super missile is kinda ugly, but it works as a counter measure for the early charge, i hope you make another one room hack soon ;D
What is the intended method to get the x-ray? Because I assume this was not.

That's not too bad of a glitch, so I think I'll leave it.

That's right.  Sorry about your keyboard.  :P

No, not quite.  You're supposed to find a way to destroy the boulders.  Also, there's
a hidden grapple block to get to the missile gate,

but I see no problem with doing it your way (and here I thought the "green gate glitch" only worked on green gates  :-s).  I'll see if I can fix the first part of what you did for beta 3.

It's pretty cool seeing how people pull off some crazy trick to thwart my intended sequence.  Keep it up!

(and here I thought the "green gate glitch" only worked on green gates  :-s).

The "Green Gate Glitch" works on all gates save for Power Bomb Gates (Super Missiles don't affect Power Bomb Shot Bubbles). Blue, Red, and Green shot bubbles work are all affected by Super Missiles. The "Green Gate Glitch" is shooting a super missile from the right side of a gate to hit the a left facing shot bubble (obvioulsy on the left side). I think the "Green Gate Glitch" works with missiles (but missiles wouldn't work against green gates). but in this case, it wouldnt matter because its a Red Gate.

Early plasma requires frame-advance, but the early charge does not. It just requires some badass timing.

Behold. Smv attached.

Well done.  I didn't know you could charge in that small of a space.  It should be easy enough to fix (I say foolishly).

here's another way to get early plasma.
Wow, I did not know that the plasma beam would destroy those boulders. I feel really silly for  putting so much effort into bypassing them.
Fano, what did you record that with? since its clearly not snes9x 1.43 improvement 9, why the change?
Every Bit Counts
I recorded that on the new Snes9x v1.51 (choose one of the bottom 2) that says it gets rid of desync's. I haven't ran it problems yet, so it's working, and I like it much better.
the only problem about the grapple wall glitch is that you can:

A) clip through the wall and end on the other side

B) get stuck in the middle of the wall

C) End anywhere else but the other side, i.e: on the ceiling, etc
Thanks for the smv, Fano7.

I see your point, and I think I know an elegant way to fix the wall without changing it's purpose.
