I do believe I've just finished the first ever truly complete Metroid Zero Mission hack. It's a boss rush hack that I just started yesterday, so try and test things out a bunch. Please note that you must be a VERY proficient walljumper in order to do much of anything in this, and some of the boss fights are very difficult, since the highest equipment status you can have is 10 missiles, 2 super missiles, and 1 extra energy tank. The first room's graphics get a bit glitchy because I spawn you out on top of a missile tank, thus screwing up the intro. http://www.mediafire.com/?jdhnjt2t5dt

Mecha ridley and, to a lesser extent, Mother Brain were hell. Otherwise, I noticed a few bosses were missing (the Acid worm, Norfair larva, if they count, and it would have been nice to see Crocomire implemented, but that's only a bonus.)
It was good nonetheless, even if unfair toward the end. :D

Yeah, Charge Beamst and Acid Worm weren't in because I completely forgot about them while making this. Also, Imago would have been nowhere near as much fun if you had had charge beam. I'm assuming by "Norfair larva" you meant Imago Cocoon, in which case he was in...

I meant the two worms BEFORE the imago cocoon, but they're not so much bosses as they are puzzles, so I understand they're absence.

I have a question: How do you start the game?

First, make a copy of your ROM. Then rename the IPS to be exactly the same as the copied ROM (i.e. "Copy of 1370 - Metroid Zero Mission.gba" and "Copy of 1370 - Metroid Zero Mission.ips"). That's called soft-patching.
Another method is to get a patching utility, such as Lunar IPS, and using it to apply the patch to the ROM.

I didn't really understand that.

1. Make a copy of your ROM.
2. Rename that copy something simple, like ZM.gba.
3. Rename the .ips file to match the file you just created, i.e. ZM.ips.

Thanks. Does this work with every .ips file?

Yes, but you'll need to keep the IPS file and have the same name as the ROM. Otherwise you'll just have your copy of the ROM again. You can have a permanent patch by "hard-patching" the IPS to the ROM using a program like Lunar IPSor "LIPS", then you can delete the IPS file and your copy of the ROM will still keep the changes

Say, you hacked Zero Mission. First, if you're using Lunar IPS, say "Create IPS Patch". You need a clean ROM first (the game that the patch is for, be sure to give a name like Metroid-Zero Mission (U).gba for universal acceptance or something like that), then give the copy of your hacked ROM (the actual hack itself), then name the patch and save it in a folder.

Double Helix, being programmed by interdpth, is excellent for Zero Mission and Fusion.

i would suggest killing the other doors. a simple code to get morphball ruins the hack by allowing you to get almost every other item... otherwise really good. almost unbearably hard on hard.

Maybe someone should take Ridley's cry and play it backwards. In Tourian, no on can here you scream. ^_^ but he puts his arrows in stun-mode brawl code: 1418-6848-0454 a great online game: http://uc.GamesTotal.com/?tft=1lii2

A simple code for Morph Ball? I suppose it would make it much easier. But there are other cheats that would be much more effective, such as one I know that causes you to fire supers every available frame.
Either way, it's still cheating. Cheaters never win, remember?

Fantastic game. You should find more bosses (or even mini-bosses) to put in the game to make it longer. It was short, talking about the route. The time to beat it wasn't short. I got 1:07.
The only thing I hated was that there was a lot of wall jumping, and I had to alternately move two fingers. For some reason, now my lower arm hurts whenever I turn my wrist. Hope this doesn't last long.
